FAQS
Answers for Blaze King Owners & Buyers
Find answers about run times, catalytic technology, maintenance, installation, and everyday operation.
PERFORMANCE & RUN TIME
Run times vary depending on the model, wood type, moisture content, and operating conditions. Blaze King systems are engineered for extended run performance, with select models capable of run times up to 40 hours under optimal conditions.
Run time can be affected by several factors, including the type and moisture level of the wood, chimney draft, home insulation, and heat settings. Properly seasoned hardwood and correct stove operation help maximize efficiency and burn duration.
For the best run performance, use properly seasoned wood with low moisture content, avoid overloading the firebox, and allow the thermostatic control system to regulate airflow consistently.
Blaze King systems combine catalytic combustion with thermostatic control technology to provide longer run times, more consistent heat output, and improved efficiency compared to conventional wood stoves.

MAINTENANCE & CARE
Always burn properly seasoned natural wood with low moisture content. Wet or unseasoned wood can reduce efficiency, create excess smoke, and increase creosote buildup.
Glass buildup is commonly caused by burning wet wood, operating the stove at very low temperatures before proper warm-up, or restricted airflow. Proper fuel and operation help keep the glass cleaner.
Routine cleaning schedules vary depending on usage and fuel quality. Regular ash removal, chimney inspection, and catalyst maintenance are important for safe and efficient operation.
Follow the maintenance instructions provided in your owner’s manual. Proper wood selection, avoiding prohibited materials, and routine inspection help extend catalyst lifespan and maintain performance.
INSTALLATION
Professional installation is strongly recommended to help ensure proper venting, clearances, safety compliance, and optimal stove performance.
Many Blaze King wood inserts are designed for installation into approved existing masonry or factory-built fireplaces. Always consult installation requirements and local building codes.
